Alhamdulillah, praise to Allah the Almighty for His
blessings, we had a chance to have a session with students in Radford
Primary School. After a great success of Malaysian Day during last winter at Nottingham Nursery, we have been invited by Radford Primary School to introduce Malaysia to the member of the school. It was indeed a priceless experience for us to get together
with local students and teachers to share about Malaysia and the weather as well as religion.
This was an excellent start for second year of KAFA class.
It showed that our message and cultures are not to be possessed alone but to be
conveyed and shared together!
We were given a chance to make a short presentation about
Malaysia during the assembly. Pn Erni Yenti, who lead the presentation had made full use of 15 minutes of the assembly time to introduce bits and pieces about Malaysia to the
little students. Some of the students did know about Malaysia since they have
Malaysian friends at the school.
The presentation was started off by bringing the students all
the way to the equator line on the globe to Malaysia. Impressively, some
students did know the relative location of Malaysia! Then, the students were
entertained with a video showing the wonderful people, food, culture and
ethniques of Malaysia.
There was also a brief and sweet presentation from 2 little sisters, Atiqah & Anissa, about tropical fruits of Malaysia such as pineapple, mango and our traditional snacks (Kuih Bahulu and Kuih Tiram) to the students.
At the end of the session, students were introduced to a Malay word ‘kawan-kawan’ which means friends. They were then presented with a video entitled Upin Ipin, one of the most phenomenon cartoon by Malaysian production, Les copaque. All students and teachers enjoyed watching that video and it showed that languages and races are not a barrier for a friendship.
Last but not least, the students was then left the hall
accompanied by Selawat to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. It was
indeed a truly happy moment when Selawat echoed the Hall of Radford Primary
School.
