KAFA d'Notts 25/1/2014

Assalamualaikum everyone,

Notts Lil Caliphs started the class as usual. This time, Teacher Anis led the session by reciting dua' and everyone sang Asmaul Husna (Allah's Names) together. Lil Caliphs were encouraged to mention Allah's names in their dua' as Allah has many attributes like Ar-Rahman (most merciful) and Ar-Rahim (most gracious).

You can sing the song too by clicking this link ---> Asmaul Husna

Then, senior little caliphs learnt about wudhu' with Teacher Gie while junior little caliphs stayed with Teacher Anis to learn Arabic alphabet.

Notts Little Caliphs mean business!

Assalamualaikum everyone!

Notts Lil Caliphs had yet another fun weekend on 11th January 2014, Alhamdulillah.

After everyone turned up, we all read the du'a to start learning.

We then went on to learn the months in the Islamic calendar.

The Islamic Calendar is a lunar calendar. Do you know that means it is based on the shapes of the moon over time when you look at it from the Earth?? We do!

What is the month after Shawwal? "DhulQa'da! Nashrah has DhulQa'da."
We sang a song to help us remember the names of the twelve months in the calendar. You can click the link below to sing too :)

The Months in Islam.

We then had a story time.

We learned that the prophet Muhammad (May peace and blessings be upon him) used to be cared for by his uncle, Abu Talib. He used to help his uncle with his business. We should always help around in our house too, don't you agree?

He became a very good trader. He always treated his customers well. He did not cheat. He did not mix good items with the bad to cover them up. Everyone was very fond of him that he made a lot of money doing business! He also helped his wife, Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her) with her business.

He used the money to buy food for his family. He also used his money to help others who are needy. We should do the same too when we have some extra money. That is a way to thank Allah for the money He gives us.

Then, we read tasbih kaffarah and surah al-asr to end the class.

Everyone went to do wudhu' because it is Zuhr time!

Arif said the adhaan and Uncle Fakhizan lead the prayer.
Then, it's time to put what we learn into practice. We had the KAFA Bazaar!

We sold many kinds of food and drink. Books and clothing too. Many of us want to donate some of the money to others who are in need, inshaAllah.

That's it for last week. Can't wait for the next KAFA class!

Asslamualaikum.
